We met “Aunt Edie” at the pool Sunday morning. I would guess she is in her late 80’s and spends a lot of time at the pool based on her really tan leathery skin.
Edie decided not to go on her weekly casino trip this Sunday, rather see who was at the pool. We were the only people at the pool because everyone had gone to the casino and it was too early in the season for the “snowbirds”.
Edie Started to tell us how she had to send her niece’s child $10 for his birthday so he can buy ice cream cones, “he really enjoys buying his ice cream with his own money.”
She told us that story about 4 times in the span of 1 hour, she didn’t seem to realize that she had already told us. Edie also mentioned that she just learned about this thing called “Alzheimer’s” from her lesbian neighbor.
Edie from New York, now living in Delray Beach seemed like a very sweet lady.
